Morning!

So we had a long day yesterday in the sugar shack. we boiled the sap down from 7 in the morning until 7 at night. We have a bit more to do today. I'll show you what it takes to get sap turned into syrup.

The lines were frozen so we had to thaw them out before we started
We boil the sap until it is 5 degrees above boiling. It becomes syrup at 7 so we finish it in another pan.

We strain it through a cloth to get anything that was in the sap out.
 This is the pan

This is when it gets to 7 degrees above boiling it does this thing called "Sheeting" That's when its done.
We pour it out in the bucket and dump it into the bottler

Hope you guys have a great day
love you
Aunt Kate
